Award on Police Pay |
The
Police Arbitration Tribunal today announced its' decision to award a
pay increase of 2.5% to take effect on police pay from 1 September 2007.
The
Police Staff Associations in Scotland* make a joint statement today
accepting the findings of the Police Arbitration Tribunal and calls
on the Cabinet Secretary to ratify the pay award with immediate effect.
“We
recognise the pay machinery process has been followed but remain unhappy
that the Official Side and Government have failed to recognise that
the pay of officers is now falling in real terms and fails to recognise
the unique restrictions and demands on police officers particularly
in today's climate of crime and terrorism.
We
now urge Scottish Ministers to quickly bring this dispute to an end
by ratifying the award”
