“My
initial reaction is that Sir Clive Booth has proposed a pay up-rating
mechanism which is inferior to and more complicated than our current
system.
By
his own calculations, if his new system had been in place over the last
ten years the police would have been worse off. That hardly fills us
with confidence for the future.
The
Staff Side will study the proposals carefully before submitting a detailed
response.”
