Police Pay Uprating Arrangements 2006

 

Further to JCC Circular 89/2006, this is to update you on recent developments.

 

I previously reported that at the PNB meeting held on 20 July, the Official Side asked Staff Side to defer its decision to refer its pay claims to conciliation until the end of last week. As you know, Staff Side refused this request.

 

Late on Friday afternoon, 28 July, the Official Side advised me by telephone that although still committed to responding to our claims, it was not yet in a position to do so. No reasons were given and no timeframe placed on their commitment to respond.  Enquiries made elsewhere 'behind the scenes' have also proved fruitless and the position is no clearer now than it was on 20 July.

In view of the above, we are preparing to go to conciliation on 21 August. We will keep you informed of further developments.
